UGH!!!!!!!!! i cant take it anymore. im starting to HUM my music b/c i cant use the radio.
i have pressed fm2 and rds for awhile, left the car on, not fully on in safe mode. NOTHING
i want to take the radio out, unplug it and then plug it back in. i want to see if that works. how do i take the face plate off and take the radio out??

 

Is the radio displaying anything at all? Is it in safe mode?

If it appears to be frozen up (backlight stays on w/ignition off, not responding to any buttons), try pulling the radio fuse for 15 seconds, then put it back in. This will reset the radio for you. You may need to enter your radio code to get it out of safe mode afterward, so make sure you have the code before doing this (esp. if you have a B5).

 

its in safe mode and wont get out of safe mode. when trying to get into "code" mode it wont go in.

 

u might have wrong manual or your radio not original… pull the radio out and call the dealer with 14 dig. code on the side of the radio…
if you don’t have a tool to pull it out go to some local radio store and do it… dealer will charge you 2 hours of labor for this…

 

on all of these radios the way to take it out of safe mode is universal on the Audi Concert stereos. fm2 and rds. im going to try the fuse idea first.. man, now i gotta find where my fuses are! =) its not even a week old car for me.

 

If you have right code, and tried to enter it before… READ YOUR MANUAL first…

it should say something loki this:
keep your key in ignition, but don’t start your car for 2 hours…. only then try to press m2 and rds and enter code… just unplugging radio wont help….

 

ah crap. 2 hours now? ok, maybe my watch was fast and it wasnt 1 hr. ill try yet again

 

i'm at work... i dont have a manual in front of me... maybe it's 1 hour... good luck ...
