Default Cylinder #1 Misfire

i have been having problems with my car lately... its been surging a little under boost.. well last night i threw a CEL... checked the code this morning and i had a #1 Cylinder Misfire .. if you guys remember this is the cylinder i had with a little bit of oil in it.. could the oil have ruined the plug??

im hoping that its only the spark plugs that are bad... anyone think the coilpack could cause this? i know lots of people have had problems with their coilpacks..

searched and found everyone likes to run the NGK BKR6E .... same plug i ran in the MR2 Turbo... ill get some plugs on order today.. so i can see wtf is up with the black beast..

p.s. compression in #1 Cylinder was 200 .. incase anyone asks..

misfire things to check = plug lead for arcing if its a coil pack type lead then it could the the rubber part that connects to the plug they do fail and hard to tell "change it", other is the oil which is a concern "it builds up round the plug and causes a short "change the rocker cover gasket"

Is there a definate answer from GIAC about what plugs they recommend? Because when I was reading the gazillion threads about spark plugs, everyone seemed to run NGK BKR6E or various others.

when doing an upgrade the plugs should be selected for that tuneup or the gaps set "dependant on plug type", the above information is for the standard 1.8T, I would look to greater spec plugs for performance reasons I only quote manufacturers spec
