Default CV joint ~

I barely worked on my car today and i wish i would have. I got the drive shaft out and i think i fucked up the threads inside the CV joint. On AW people said you can get the CV joint out of the hub and take the Axle bolt and push it off over the C clip under the joint, but that didn't work to well. It popped like it was suppose to like it got over the c clip and i backed the bolt out and it got real tight like cross threading finally got it out threads look fine on the bolt but inside i dunno. I am thinking about buying a whole new driveshaft and say fu*k it, a lot easier and alot less time consuming but wallet consuming. Pics indeed.

Why were you taking your driveshaft out?

Only one way to find out if you messed up. If you put it back on, start the car up and start driving, and your car wants to go towards the side of the suspect driveshaft, you need a new one.

sorry, the cv boot was torn and have to take the cv joint off to replace the boot. Im gonna try and chase the threads in the cv joint, if not raxel.com sells remanufactured half shafts, for $174 with a lifetime warranty on the whole thing, even the boot. Thanks bent, ill check that out.

For laughs the dealer wanted $270 for just the cv joint that was remanufactured, and a half shaft was over $550

Also they will make a clicking sound, and may feel slugish.

So many damn projects not enough time, TRE, belts, new fan clutch, fix my exhaust leak, valve cover gasket. I knew putting off maintinace and doing mods would come back and bite me in the ****.
