Default Cup holder in my A4...

okay, so I know the germans aren't big fans of driving while drinking... anything... but while the A4 has two cup holders under the center armrest, there seems to be a third retractable cup holder above the cd player in the console... and I can't get it to open. anyone know what I'm talking about? I've tried pusing and twisting in every direction... surely it wasn't an option, right? it's got the little cup-logo and it won't seem to come out. is it probably just stuck, or is there a technique...
thx

Mine was stuck also. get a flathead or something small and persuade it open. then clean the inside with a drgreaser then WD40 it. good as new.

wow i didnt know the 2000 interior was so dif. than my 98. i just found a pic of it on google. my guess would be that you just push it and it would pop out so it seems like urs it just jammed. damn i wish i had an extra cup holder in mine. those little flip out ones were cool when i first saw it but they are completely useless

most likely stuck. mine was stuck when i first got it and i sprayed the hell out of it with glass cleaner. after some delicate prying with a screwdriver it sprung open. then more spraying and wiping to get all the stuff off it so it works smoothly now.

yeah, so the flathead and wd-40 got it open and a little smoother, but now it won't close. it just goes to about 1/2 an inch out from the panel. so whatever, that's good enough, considering I'll probably mess with it until I fix it or break it... but yeah, so unless anyone has ideas on how i should go about closing it completely, I'm good as is...

just keep greasing it down with wd-40 and play with it. spray it push it in as far as it will go spray it again pull it out all the way spray then repeat. it will start workin smooth eventually

Lazer, who did the photo-shop job on your audi?

It looks crappy, we want to see what you car really looks like, but your sig is all stretched out!

If you need help, you can email me the image, I can help you resize it. I am one of those computer nerds.
