Default couple questions

- My sunroof is making a screeching noise when I close it but not when I open it. I tried spraying the track with lithium grease but this didn't help, maybe I didn't spray enough or what?

- Where can I get some nice shift *****?

- How much 0-60 performance am I loosing by having fwd instead of quattro if any?

Default RE: couple questions

My b5 did the exact same thing. When I sprayed it it worked for like a couple weeks but the sound came back. Shift ***** are just kinda all over. Theres a hyperlink at the top of the A4 forum that says "Audi Links" go there and look around. As for the performance question....

When a cars horsepower is given, its usually its crank horsepower (chp) Chp really doesnt mean anything. Its all about wheel horsepower. If a car has 200chp, but is a all wheel drive, the power has to be split form the front wheels, and to the back wheels, therefore resulting in less whp. A rear wheel drive looses a little more than a front wheel drive, but both have less drivetrain loss than awd. So to answer your question, you arn't loosing, you actually will perform better. (to a degree) I say to a degree because once you start making some serious power, you will have wheel spinm, where as a awd car wont. If your frontrash ran against a quattro, you would win. You car only has about 12-15% drivetrain loss from the crank number, where a quattro is about 24-26. Hope that helped

Ya that definatly helped. Initially I was thinking of not wasting money getting a chip or a new turbo since i don't have quattro but now I'm reconsidering. Also with these chips everyone talks of I don't see anyone talkin about any in-cabin controls for them. Do you guys just set the chip to a certain psi and forget about it? On spike tv I watch horsepower tv sometimes during the day and those guys always advertise these little computer things that let you control your turbo settings and a lot of other engine controls with the push of a button. Any of you guys install those?
