RE: Cost of painted lowers
haha thats a big range ... i would say try it yourself ... if worse comes to worse a shop could fix it up ... but i wouldnt think it would be to hard .... just time consuming .... i'm gonna do a m3 spoiler lip pretty soon .... looks easy enough ...

lol i no it was kinda a joke.... but seriouly it does depend on the color, i know silver is very easy to match and that will be cheap... but i also that pearl is a 3 tone paint and is real expensive to match up professionally. theres lots of poeple here that have had it done, most did it themselfs i think

Thats what i like to hear. Mines silver, with the body paint just newly compounded. But i love the way the painted lowers looks. I have a pretty steady hand, but have no idea how to go about doing this by myself. Any instructions? Supplies?

What kind of supplie do you need, and what's the procedure to paint it yourself so that you can notice any different.
I know there's the thing call touch up paint that will works, however, I'm not sure exactly how to do it.

i agree i like the look of painted lowers over all the body kits for the a4. if i wasnt going to sell my car in a couple of months i would pay to have it done myself.
sorry i dont no anything about actually doing it, i just got it quoted by a couple of places around me.

one was 450 and the other was 760(i think for the 760 one they plans on taking the lowers of to paint them rather then covering the rest of the car), i have pearl paint though so its more. you also have to mix the paint with some special stuff so it will stay on the plastic over the years. i would say go for it urself if u have silver though. but again im not the right person to tell u about the details of doing it

RE: Cost of painted lowers
I just had my lowers painted on Wednesday. I paid 300 bucks and he did a great job and he even warranty'd it as long as I own the car. I have a silver 03 A4 car and it looks a lot better than have that "two tone" look.
This is what I did. I went to my local Audi dealership and they told me they have a paint guy and a dent guy that comes by once a week to work on their cars. He said he could most likely do mine if I left it at the dealer. They called me when he showed up and quoted me 350 and he did it that day. I was able to pick it up that evening and he said he actually enjoyed painting my car and that 300 bucks would be fine. I'm going to go back next week for him to take of my front license plate, plug the holes in the bumper and repaint it. He said he would only charge me 60 for that.
