Hey ddd,
Which shop did you go to for your suspension repairs? I'm replacing my control arms soon and am looking for a shop with experience. Did they charge reasonably enough?

RE: Control arms
I'm having the same issue and the shop I took my 99 A4 to said I needed to replace both left and right front upper control arms. They're quoting $150 per arm (OEM parts) and $160 for labor so I'm looking at around $460 + tax.
Does this price quote seem normal to you guys?

RE: Control arms
I am really frustrated with this problem. My question is should control arms need replacing on a 2003 Audi A6 with 56K miles on it? The dealer is saying they do not usually need to be replaced
until 85-90K. Of course my Pure Care protection warranty is telling me they will not cover this repair since it is due to "wear and tear" and is not actually a defect. Any thoughts or helpful suggestions would
be appreciated.

RE: Control arms
I soaked all the connections with white litium grease.
anywhere the contol arms connect, including the lower ones, wherever there were rubber parts, and/or bolts. this made my suspension quite down, so there is no more noise. I have coilovers, and steering is real tight, so I dont think I need to replace the control arms, but this did quiet everything down for me.

RE: Control arms
I have a 2000, A6 with 68,000 miles.
My right and left control arm rubber bushings are cracked. How long can I drive the car in this condition and do the cracked bushing pose a driving danger and how does it affect tire wear and driving performance?
