Default Considering a 2007 A4 2.0T Quattro - mostly BMW owner with questions

I've only owned BMWs (Z4 3.0, 325is, 318is, E46 M3 Vert) up to this point and love just about everything about the ownership experience. Especially how BMWUSA Corporate sticks up for you if a dealer tries to screw you over and the BMWCCA and of course the free 50k service.

I currently though have a 142 mile 3 days a week commute and am looking into getting a comfortable cheaper second vehicle to rack some miles on.

I am not hot on the 3 series sedan design and I've found 2007 A4 2.0's going for 24-28k on Autotrader with only 3-8k miles on them. So I have a couple questions...

1. BMW has a extended warranty option where if you're the original buyer of the car, they'll extend your warranty for a nomial fee to 100k miles/6 years. This is different from the CPO warranty because it's a new car warranty extention and is bumper to bumper, does Audi have the same program and do they have that requirement that you have to be the original buyer?

2. How's the reliability on the 2005.5-2007 A4's for people who have put a lot of miles on them, expected points of failure?

3. What's the interval for the timing belt/chain on the 2.0T?

4. What's the best deal people are getting on new A4's? I was able to finagle my 2007 Z4 under invoice due to some special circumstances.

"getting a comfortable cheaper second vehicle"

PFFFFFF Cheaper... Its a great car

1. I believe its 4/5 years 50k for any owners.
2.The releabilty is great if it breaks you have the warranty.
3.Timing belt comes around 60k to whenever your luck runs out.
4.i Got my 2006 A4 for 23,00

Sorry im so brief but you called AUDI cheap

I just came from a 2001 740i and don't have much, if any, regrets after buying my '07 2.0TQ. I've had an A4 in the past and this is just a better one. I don't think you'll miss the BMW at all. If you do, you can buy another one down the road when they fix the styling.

lol, having an E46 M3, i would say he is buying a "cheaper" car.
as for the topic at hand, I have almost 3k miles on my '07 and so far so good. I love it. My only regret is that I did not go for the Bose sound system and Nav.

Haha sorry guys, I meant CheapER not cheap. I really like Audi's current design direction and don't consider it "cheap" by any means.

This would be a second/third car but I'm planning to really rack on the miles so I'm a bit concerned about the availability of factory warranty extension.

If its cpo its 6 years. Mine is an '05 and goes until '11. So the warranty is pretty long.

I just bought a CPO 07' A4 2.0 Quatro with a little over 5k miles on it. I gotta say, I couldn't be happier. There were a few higher end feature I wish mine had, but you can't be too choosy when it comes to a CPO. Needless to say, it was blue booking at 34K and I got it for a hair over 27. I can't tell you anything about how it's gonna fair in the long run, but right now I'm as happy as I could be with it.
