Default Cold Air Intake Mod

Me and my cousin modded my intake today.I have been talking about how we doubled up our heatsheild and left our snorkel in to help prevent heat soak but we took it a little further. Here are the pics.

This is my car with the CAI and the little snorkel from the stock airbox to funnel in outside air.

Another pic showing the snorkel

My doubled up heatshield

The piece that usually connects the snorkel and the stock airbox but we modified it by cutting out a big hole.

We add the modified piece

Heres showing how after we add the piece it wall funnel air directy to the cone filter instead of just around the engine bay

And put back the piece the usually covers the airbox. WHAT INTAKE? It looks stock now

After putting the modified piece on, the car felt a little more peppy, nothing crazy but a little better than it was before. I hope that this will aid in the avoidance of heatsoak.

all the way down to the frame rail. it completely gets rid of heat soak. with my old evoms heatshield that you have i would run the car in 20* temps and the cone filter would be heat soaked..

now with this new setup i've run it in 70* temps(highest i've seen so far with is) and the filter is cold to the touch even after long and hard driving while the turbine housing is glowing next to it.. i really recomend it..

Question. first, if you could poast the parts for that itd be great. second!!

okay, on my intake, there is a pope smaller than the intake pipe running to the turbo that goes into my air box near the turbo inlet hose. it goes into the airbox before the MAF, after the air filter. i am assuming that either it discharted air into the intake or more probably it sucks air up. which is it and if it does suckair in, would i just need to get a small air filter for it?

I would hate to take any business away from you, because you did an awesome job with those and I have heard nothing but great reviews. I actually did my own last weekend, and like an idiot forgot to take pictures. I'll do a write up this weekend with pictures....

True it is 40 degrees here, but I definately noticed a big difference between the engine side and filter side.

But again 00black1.8ts is tried and proven, and not very expensive so its up to you guys....
