RE: Cold Air Intake for B5
I got a similar setup on my B6
Heatshield from the Zine between my engine and the intake.
Intake, propped up nicely with the air coming through the grill directly onto it.
Sounds great, and I noticed better pull up higher, it for sure does something.
Dont have numbers to proove it though[&:]

Very true. I see where people are coming from when people say the intake gives 0 or very little HP but nobody can back up that statement with hard facts.

i doubt someone would pay for a dyno after only getting an intake

You may actually end up loosing hp if you do that. You air box was engineered that way for a reason. The stock air box is about as good as it gets. Just get a K&N panel filter. You wont get the sound of a cone but if that is waht you want go buy a honda

I dont think so, yes the airbox is engineered very well but its also engineered for every type of condition even below freezing operations for me in southern CA its not very practical. I wrapped the induction tube that goes into the box with Flue tape over thesummerand just from that i saw a difference because it reflected all the heat and also madeit completely air tight.that thing alone can ruin any cold air coming in. For me its not about horse power its about accompanyingthe stage 2 that i want to be at.

Does it REALLY matter if its only 2 or 3 hp at most gained at 6k+ rpm's? When we are talking sigle digit hp #'s that are less than 5 crank hp, who gives a ****, ya know?

Dude no way the guy who tried really hard to sell it to me swore on his mother's grave that it boosts by 10-15 horsepower, that's the only reason I bought an intake.
