clutch and flywheel
Ok... so I was just searching around a little and found a little of what I need but not really sure.
After i've installed a custom intake I think that my clutch maybe wearing out a bit... maybe just by chance, who knows. BUT its been releasing pretty high.... My question is do you think this could be because of the custom intake?
With this I was wondering what options you would recommend me looking at for replacing the clutch, and possibly the flywheel. Do you think I need to replace both of them?
I have a 2001 1.8T, custom intake, heat shield, forge007 (on monday when I can get it out of my po box)... and thats all to the engine.

RE: clutch and flywheel
your intake wont have any effect on the clutch, youd know if your clutch was going, when you let it out it would slip alot and the engine would rev
theres alot of debate on aftermarket flywheels, they are dual mass so they lend to helping engine vibrations, and they are alot smoother, some people have complained of chatter comming from it.. i feel like it is more of a brand problem, some brands of lwfw are better then others
but no, you dont need to replace both
if you dont plan on doing anything crazy with your car in the future then i would suggest a southbend stage 2

RE: clutch and flywheel
so i think this problem which i thought was my clutch was actually my dv... I was experiences this rattle snake noise in my dv when I pushed on the gas. I read it somewhere what this is called but forget. Just got a new FORGE007 and now I can hear my turbo spool again, and my car feels good.
