hello...

how are you doing...i have a 2006 a4 2.0t with 1100 miles on it...sweet drive

i just started hearing a click noise when i brake...

specifically...if i press the brake to stop at a light, for example, i hear a single click...then another single click when i take my foot off the brake...

also, when the car is in park, and i press the brake, i hear a single click...another single click when i take my foot off the brake...

there is no clicking noise if i come to a very gradual/soft stop...

is this normal?


any comments would be appreciated...

Something with your ABS maybe? I'm sure you know when you stop really fast, you get lot's of clicks, but a single click. Never heard that on a car with ABS before.

 

the click seems to be coming from the passenger side floor or the front center vents...

 

Switch for brake lights?

you might have a point...would the switch for the brake light click? have you heard this sound in your car before...is it "normal?"

the click does sound like a noisy relay. Hence, if the brake lights come on, the relay clicks. When the brake lights go out, the relay clicks again. It makes sense. What doesnt make sense is that he doesnt notice a click when he stops very gradually.

I really dont know. I am assuming that this noise just started, which means that it wasnt this way when you bought it new. That means Audi didnt intend for you to have it with the annoying sound, and would be more than happy to fix it for you under warranty.
