Default check engine codes

I went to autozone, since my check engine light was on, and I had 2 fault codes:

1) P0171: system too lean (bank 1)
2) P0442: evap emission control system leak (small)

Also, when accelerating, my car will occasionally hesitate or hiccup. Basically, it feels like I just took my foot off the gas for a split second, even when I haven't.

I'm driving an 2001 A4 1.8 turbo. About 80K miles, no mods.

My question is, without any serious car working experience (most i've done is replaced an alternator), is there anything I can do or should i run right to the shop?

cheers

you have a vacuum leak some where look at your hoses and see if they are cracked split anywhere, taht would be your best bet, that y u are running lean its taking in to much air, or you may try and clean your MAF too if you cant find any cracks

so, i brought my car to a mechanic and apparently the CELs are the least of my problems. I need tie rod ends, a control arm and a clutch. The mechanic is suggesting replacing the flywheel as well, but obviously it'll cost more money ($718 just for the part). Do i need to get a new one of these as well? I've got 80K miles.
