Default Changing rear brake pads on 96 A4 pistons won't go in...Need Help

I've been trying to change my brake pads but the piston wont go in. I got a special ratchet tool for it that turns the piston but it still won't go in. Am i not pushing hard enough or I also heard that there is a tool that cost about 60 bucks.... is this the tool I need???? Help...

I dont know about audi pistons, but most Ive worked with were hyperfanaulic. Which means they are like a hard plastic. I would try too hard without damaging the piston cause a chip or crack will = you being screwed and needing a new caliper.

My guess is a siezed caliper you may need a new caliper, that or your tool may be not functioning properly.

you do know they screw in. you have to press on it and screw it in at the same time. you can rent a tool at autozone or pepboys for free

what he said. they wont move unless they are twisted while being compressed.

problem might be that you need to take the cap off the brake fluid resevoir.. If you dont do that you can seriously F up your brake system.. Pushing/turning the piston in is pushing pressure through the system.. Take the cap off and it will push the fluid up.. The level will raise but shouldnt overflow.
If you have the cube ratchet tool it wont work.. You need the caliper tool kit.

take the brake reservoir cap off, apply pressure to the piston as evenly distributed as possible, and just keep crankin on it....either it's just in there real tight and needs a little extra force, or it's seized, in which case it doesn't matter if you crack it applying too much force, cause it's garbage anyway.

They must be twisted clockwise while prssure is on them, with the cap off the reservoir.

If they don't go in at all, then I usually put the cap back on, tap the brake pedal slightly (NOT MUCH) to get the pistons to move out a little, then repeat the steps above
