changing the auxiliary fan

ok guys im stuck i dont know how to change the aux fan. help

You have to either put the radiator in the service postition, or remove it to access the fan.

First, purchase a Haynes manual from Pepboys for 15 dollars.

Bumper
To remove, remove Torx screws at wheel housing liner.
Remove air inlet grill at bumper.
Remove bolt w/washer assembly -1-.
When installing, tighten to 23 Nm.
Unclip bumper from bracket -9- and remove toward

7 - Lock carrier
For service position
- Screw special tool 3369 into threaded bore -5- on left side Fig. 1
- Remove left and right mounting screws -1-.
- Remove mounting bolts -3- and -4- and pull lock carrier -7- forward.
- Secure lock carrier Fig. 2 .

your the bomb man thanks alot, just to get this straight i have to remove the fromt bumber the headlights and alot of other sh**

Don't need to remove headlights. Just move evrything forward a few inches. The bumper has to be removed to do this

Get a Haynes manual for the B5 and Vw. It is a good invesment and has enough information for much of the basic stuff.

The front can be held in the service position using some threaded bar. There was a thread on it the last couple of weeks.

i tryed to do it, but man it was just a pain in the a**. plus it started to rain florida wheather sucks. but thank alot im gonna try it again next week. if that doesnt work im just gonna take it somewhere
