Default Changed my timing belt

I changed my timing belt this past weekend. I have a 98 2.8 quattro manual. It has never been changed before and it has 98,000 miles on it (I know I was pushing it!). Used the ecs ultimate kit. Took me about 12 hours total with a few breaks. Was't that bad but a lot of wrench turning. I manufactured a cam lock tool on my own out of wood and some screws because I'm to cheap to buy the audi tool. Overall it went pretty well and I saved a good amount of money. Just wanted to let anybody know if they are considering doing it themselves and have never done it before that they can do it if they have some automotive knowledge, a manual, the right tools and some patience.

It's an easy job if you remove the front of the car, no need for special tools then

Yeah, it worked great for me. Showed how to get the bumper off and the radiator into service position. Everything was clear and easy to follow. It did take me quite a while though. Good luck with it!
