Default CEL Shut off

I don't suppose anyone knows how to turn off the CEL without a vag-com (aside from maybe detaching the battery for a minute or 2?) I've already pulled the code, (evap B.S. that will hopefully just go away) but the guy at autozone wouldn't reset it. anyone??? I searched previous posts and haven't found anything.

Vag-com or battery is the only ways that I've ever heard of - why are you aginst pulling the negative cable for a few minutes?

I'm not "against". I would just rather do it without getting under my hood if I can. I park on the street in boston, soooo....working under the hood isn't what I really want to do...but its all good. if there's no other way there's no other way. thanks.

well, my guess is this, it was 10 degrees outside, and i hadn't let the car warm up, and I stomped on the gas pedal, so the rubber of the hose wasn't maleable, and a little bit of the pressure build up leaked at one of the fittings. so i don't think its a real "malfunction" that really needs to be addressed, which is why I'd like to reset the CEL and see if it comes back on before I go to a garage with it.

i mean, why is a "small leak" grounds for turning on the CEL? I feel like if they are going to have a code like that it should only activate after repeated small leaks, and not after the first stupid leak. ineed to get a state inspection sticker on this car this week and i can't do that with the CEL on....thanks audi.
