CEL #P1137.... any ideas on what to do first
I went to autozone and pulled the code. one post had a list that said:
P1137 Long Term Fuel Trim Add. Fuel B1 System Too Rich
The problem is one the CEL and two the car sputters when you slow down to about 5-10 mph, at idle its fine. I sounds like its gonna stall but has not yet. Some posts had possible solutions, i want to see what you guys think.
it sounds like I should first clean the MAF. Is this the thing on top of the air box? Is there anything I should know before I start taking it apart to clean it?
second, it could be a bad o2 sensor. is there a way to find out if its the pre or post cat o2 sensor?
any other ideas?
Also, any of you guys use seafoam and if so where is the vacume line used to suck it in? BTW, its a 99 A4 1.8T w/quattro.
thanks

You don't need to bump your thread that often...
Rich conditions are usually caused by bad O2 sensors. O2 sensors constantly switch between lean and rich and over time this switching gets slower and slower, to the point that the car switches to lean, richens the fuel mixture and sets off a CEL in the process.
Cleaning your MAF couldn't hurt. Just buy some electronics cleaner at your local auto parts store.

Good luck
