RE: CEL code from autozone... help?
thanks ace. i electrical taped up the leak as much as a i could, and its actually idleing 100 or 200 lower now which i like, and it doesnt sound wheezy. How much do you think that tube is? should i worry about getting a new one this weekend? week? month? how dire is this guy?

That tube is a vacuum line. With a leak you'll run lean (bad for the engine) and lose boost (bad for your mojo), plus the car will run like !@#$. But if you wrap it up in a few layers of electrical tape it should be good enough to drive on until you get it replaced.

you can get a hose like that at autozone or any car parts store. shouldnt be more than $10-15. replace it then just drive it for a couple days before taking it to the dealer. if thats what was setting the code off the ECU will detect that its fixed and turn the light off by itself.

thanks all, i put on some tape, and drove it a few hours yesterday, drove a little quieter at least. If that was the only problem, would the ecu turn itself off from the tape alone, or is it smart enough to knowits not really fixed?
Vacum line sounds easy enough. Does anyone know exactly what that part number is or where i can find it to get another one? DIY?
