left side when looking at the engine from the outside.. Passenger side if you are sitting in the car.
Im starting to confuse us i think.. So just find out what side is Bank 1 and its the 1st 02 sensor on that side.

I'm actually talking about sitting in the car view, so it would be the righ side when looking at the engine form the outside.

bank one is not which side, it is before or after the cat. Is this something that you can change it yourself? If so, is there any DIY guide?

Thanks

This is from an 01 2.8, but the setup should be similar.. You can see the general area of the cats and 02 sensor location.

Not really, the picture makes it look more complicated than it really is.. If you have time sometime, jack up your car and have a look around... I have probably spend hours in my life just browsing engine bays and and the under parts of cars for no other reason than to just get an idea of what the hell it all could be.. Thats where it all starts, and if you want to save yourself a **** load of money in the future, now is a good time to start browsing to get an idea of what stuff is and where its located... Took me about an hour to replace 2 02 sensors on my maxima and thats just because i got **** in my eyes and had to go wash em out.

Well, I would love to learn how to do it, but I don't think the picture you provided are detail enough for a first timer.

ok, i just searched code p0050 which is the code i had and jest told me that bank 2 was passenger side, when i took it to the mechanic it was the drivers side o2 sensor that was bad, the sensor basicly screws into your tubing and there is a plug at the end, it's like the plug that goes to a computer tower, you just need a wrench and some patience, do you have a local euro shop around you that can do it for you, let them figure out which sensor is bad and you can order it and have them put it in, or even a local mechanic that you know or family member knows. but make sure you get the right one because the plug's are not the same.

Bank two is passenger side, Bank one is driver's seat side, can anybody confirm?

BTW, does it make a difference if I use the universal type instead of the OE type? Which one do you guys recommended to use?

And as for the oxygensensor.com website, what do they refer to when talking about left and right side, are they talking about look at it out of the engine, or sitting in a driver's seat?

Please answer this quetions about universal and OEM type, I'm getting closer to the end......
