'97 came with the carbon driveshaft, and there is no benefit to switch to the cf. infact, switch to cf on a non '97 or using a '98+ driveshaft on a 97 will only hurt performance.

if you search the zine there are a few posts talking about how there isn't an real weight difference, and that they aren't interchangeable
if i find the exact post, ill put up a link. i remember doing research about it, because i was curious to see if there were any benefits, etc

there are a few other posts on aw... just search carbon driveshaft and you'll see alot more, but this one is kinda extensive:

ps there are some people who have done the swap and there are some that say that they arent exactly interchangeable, so i guess if you wanna switch to cf, go for it, but its prob not worth the money to do so...
