Carbon Fiber hood vs. Fiberglass

Carbon Fiber hood vs. Fiberglass
So I need a new hood and because it seems impossible to find a used hood I'm looking at new carbon fiber and fiberglass hoods. I know carbon fiber is probably a lot better, but it's also a lot more expensive. Does anybody know the real difference (obviously they are chemically different) as far as performance, etc? Do you have to paint fiberglass? Or if anybody has a used cf b5 hood let me know. Thanks

RE: Carbon Fiber hood vs. Fiberglass
Yes you would WANT to paint a fiberglass hood, no it is not needed. A carbon fiber hood is more flexable I belieeve, not sure though. A carbon fiber hood is lighter than fiberglass and is something like 1/3 of the weight of the O.E.M. hood. How much are you looking to pay for a factoryhood? I just so happen to have one on my car that I might sell.

RE: Carbon Fiber hood vs. Fiberglass
I'm kind of trying to avoid painting, so that's why I'm looking aftermarket. My car is a custom silver, stock silver might work, but I don't want to pay much for a stock hood, since it's a pretty good opportunity to shave off a lot of weight for not too much more.
