I was on my way home tonight and I realize that my temp gauge is not going up to 12'oclock where it should be... And by this time i have been driving for over 10mins going 80 and still no heating up.... After i took my exist it went about halfway to 12 but never all the way... so I hit the gas and when i let off I see the needle start to go back to down to where it started... This is the first time it has ever happened to me any ideas what it could be??? my is guess its a sensor.. But which one???

sounds like a stuck open thermostat...I have the same problem, but I am in Florida, so I am not too worried about overcooling issues....lol

 

its never done it before... Im like wtf..maybe tm it wont do it, but if it does, how much will it be to fix this problem? Or just the part and i fix it?

 

Changing the thermostst is a DIY if you can get under the car. Part is probably 15 dollars, you will need new coolant, unless you collect and reuse.

 

oil consistantly stayed at 190 range but today (hot today too) there were no problems today with the thermostat worked fine on the way to my first class to work and to my parents house.... so im guessing its on the way out??? well see as i keep driving it... my car has this power where it heals its self.... not even kidding lol
