Main two types are G2 and Duplicolor.
Duplicolor is sold at most Auto stores for about $15-$18.
The kit contains paint, a cleaner, a brush, tape, and instructions.
Search the forums for DIY articles and posts about how to do it.
I used Duplicolor and here is the result:

I will probably buy the G2 kit and redo it.
Also, I did not add clear coat when I was finished.
This was a mistake. The color is a little more dull now than in the picture, but I'll take care of that in the coming weeks.

Painted while on. I taped off whatever I didn't want painted, but it made it quite difficult.
Here is a walk-through for a MUCH better way to go about it.
His finished result was better than mine and I will be following his instructions when I re-do the car.

I've used the G2 kit and was very happy with the results. I took the calipers off the rotors but left the hose attached. It was a bit harder this way but I got better coverage. Note that with the 2-part systems, you need to do all 4 calipers at the same time. Once mixed, the paint hardens in a matter of hours. It then takes about 24 hours to dry thoroughly so make sure you're not going anywhere.

No worries.
Happy to help.

The rims are OEM 17" from Audi on the B7's with Sport Suspension.
I'll be moving to the 18" or 19" RS4 Reps probably, but not anytime soon.

Default RE: caliper paint

I just finished painting my calipers and I was pretty happy with the result. I used the Duplicolor. The paint is so thin that it really does take at least four coats. I removed the caliper but kept it attached to the car. Its a pain but I was able to paint everything and even get inside of the caliper. I had to replace the brake pads anyway.

What I don't understand is that I am looking at all of the pictures of nice clean calipers. Mine didn't look anything like that, they were rusty as hell. I spent hours and hours removing rust and cleaning up the calipers before I even thought about painting. I ended up buying rust remover and wiring brushing the crap out of them. I seriously have 24+ hours in caliper cleaning/rust removal between the front and rear calipers. I am guessing these guys either live south and haven't seen salty roads or the newer Audis are getting some kind of coating on the calipers.

Overall I am pretty happy with the result, but because it took so much work to get the calipers clean, I don't know if I would ever do it again.
