Well the 96-97 V6's aren't very tunable compared to the 30 valve and 1.8t's. We have to tune the old fashioned way. Porting, polishing, cams, exhaust, etc. Unfortunatly there is no chip or supercharger for our engine. [:@] But I've come to terms with this, and love my car just the same.

Apparently there is a way to bypass IAT sensor using a simple resistor, which in turn increases air/fuel ratio and advances the angle for 1 to 2 degrees. As far as I know, we don't have separate IAT sensor, so I kind of given up on this cheap mod.

As you said - I love it for what it is!

Yeah that mod realy isn't a mod. It's about as good as the resisters you can buy on ebay to solder into the O2 sensors.

Does bypassing O2 really make any difference?

The ONLY thing I'm considering is getting the K&N filter, a quality set of spark plugs, and synthetic oil b/c I have awesome experience using these in my previous BMWs (325Is is absolutely different car after installing K&N)

Well the k&n really isn't favored in the 12V crowd. Too many reports of the oil ruining the MAF sensor, because they are so close to each other. The 12v audi airbox actually flows quite well stock. The biggest restriction on the intake is the MAF housing and the Throttle body. I have had mine ported and polished by Abnormally Aspirated.

Well I guess that's what the forums are for. Replacing a car feels more severe than replacing a women

Thanks a lot for you valuable input!

Mihailo.
