A/C help- Atlanta
The A/C system of my 96 Audi A4 Quattor is down. The garages changed too much to fix it. I am a student, and could not afford too much. Can some techanics here help to fix it for me? I can pay a reasonable labor reward, and help order needed parts.
If you can do it, please reply the price you change to this message or send it by email. Thanks a million.

You have a leak somewhere that will require fixing to stop the r134 from leaking again which requires an ac machine, special light, special goggles and uv r134. Really you need a shop to truely fix it otherwise you can go to Walmart to buy r134 and do it yourself.

Thank you, tractioncontrol.
A mechanic, who is not the techanican of Audi, told me my compressor is down, and tell me to replace it and maybe other parts. Too bad, too bad, can not be worse. It will cost me an arm or leg.

Usually a leak in a hose causes the compressor damage but if you replace the compressor yourself with a refurbished or used one and have them fill and leak test it the rest would be cheap, usually hoses can be fixed with new orings on the fittings.
