Default A/C Evaporator replacement, should I?

I've been dreading this. My evaporator seems to need to be replaced. I'm deciding if I should do it myself. I was doubtful if I should do the turbo myself. I decided to do it and it all worked out well.

Who has done the evaporator? Would you do it again?

quite a simple job apart from the gasses and oil mix loss and you have to get it re-gassed but if you can do it you will save a lot of cash

Well, that's the first time I've heard that it is a simple job to replace. Everyone talks about what a pain it is.

I'm hoping someone here will be encouraging to do it. Has anyone done it and found it simple?

Newer done one but working under the dash of an audi is a pain in the ***. Its definatly not a simple job. What makes you think you need a new evaporator? Ive never seen one go bad.

If there is a small leak in the evaporator, you might try adding a can of R143a with lubricant and stop leak.
