Default Buying a used A4.

Hello, I would like a used Audi A4 but i'm not sure if they are as realiable as some other cars out there for the same price. I really like the A4 1.8t quattro but I wanted to see some feedback on what problems I would run into if I purchased one, what I need to look for when buying one, how durable/reliable one is. Also if anyone is reading this far could you tell me what a good price for one is with relatively low miles (60k or lower) for a 96-99. I have around 8k saved up and am not sure what car to buy with it because of repair costs etc... Thank you for reading and replying.

Thanks for the response, I like those reasons, what would I be expecting to pay for a 95-99 A4 1.8t with under 65k miles?

Look on Ebay, a lot of dealers down south willing to sell cheaper there than in Des Moines, IA. Who knows you might be able to find that Audi Certified and save money to take a vacation with your new car.

but honestly, if the price is cheap, take a looksee at the car, if that doesn't look cheap, look for Audi Certified Extended Warranty or a warranty of any kind.

Next, CARFAX. Its $30 (I think) for a membership and it'd be well worth the $30 to see if the vehicle has a record.

The only problem w. ebay vs "The Audi Dealer Down the Street" a test drive is difficult to come by. That and the embarrassment of telling your bank you need to buy a car online.. gimme a loan for $12K?

sometimes you can get lucky to find ebay deals near your place in which case you can go check out the car in person.

also look for relatively newer audis on ebay that are still under warranty. i bought mine on ebay and has worked out well so far.

Default Buying a used A4.

I just picked up a 03 A4 Fully loaded quattrofor 26000 it had 13000 miles on it. It was in great condition. I am with a4rings10, for long term I would get a jap car. I have a 95 honda with about 80000 miles on it and that car is running great. It is running a lot better since I just changed then engine for fun. I have a friend with an A6 and he loves it. I love my A4 even thoght I only brought it home today :P.
