Busted glove box...

Busted glove box...
Ok, I've been trolling around this forum for a while now, finally decided to register. Anyway, I'm having some issues with my damn glove box. (car is a 2003 A4 1.8t Quattro) Basically I have a feeling something is broken with the latch...when I try to pull the handle, there's no resistance like it's not actually connected to anything, and there's a damn rattle coming from the box whenever I drive. Wouldn't bother me too much cause I never use the box...except for the rattle. Driving me crazy.
Just curious if any of you guys have ever had a similar issue or have any idea how to fix this. I've tried prying it open and the left side (where the handle is) seems to be able to move freely, but the right side is firmly locked in place and I don't want to bust it any more than it already is. And...I did try to search, but that appears to be broken right now [:@]
Oh, and since I'm sure some of you want to see what I have, here's a pic of the car (not the best pic, but oh well)

RE: Busted glove box...
yes, it really does. I'd love to not have to go in to the dealer and have them look at it, but it appears that may be the way to go...
i should start being really buddy-buddy with those parts and service guys...maybe i could start getting the hook-up or something

LOL...........that's my plan be buddy-buddy. I chatted up the service manager while I was buying my Audi cause I already knew they were going to have to fix the glove box so I was talking about it with him.
Anywho about the rattling.......mine rattled this morning but only when the bass blasted. So I'm pretty sure the rattling is something I have inside my glove box. I'm getting a new one anyway so even if this one is having rattling problems I'll have a new one hopefully by monday.

RE: Busted glove box...
The problem with B6 an on A4 glove compartment are the door hinge on the right side, if you open the glove compartment door you will probably notice a crack where the right side hinge is, this will also make it harder to close the door because its not aligned properly. To fix this youjust replace the door, remove the glove compartment by removing all the 8mm nuts, about 10 of them and pull the glove box door downwards. Use a wire cutter tool and a hammer to bang out the door hinge pins, then use a small T8 torx to remove the screw for the handle on the door and pop out the lock. Install in reverse order, anyone with a B6 or newer A4 should check the hinge because they break quite frequently.
