a little engineering experience on why you don't need the alignment and the reason I say its B/S,
1. when you lower the car body by the springs your altering the center of gravity so the Camber/Castor would be the issue and since the front cant be altered without fitting a camber kit.
2. I have done loads of suspension dropping by 40mm and more without any issues.
3. the problem to be concerned over is wheels touching the bodywork mainly when fitting over size wheels with incorrect off sets.
4. 1-1/2" drop ( 40mm ) is the most common done these days without the need to do any other alterations and even if it did require alterations the basic tyre fitter does not have the tools to make the correct adjustments required this would be a sport specialist job like someone who sets them up for the track.
5. you are lowering the car whats that got to do with the tracking?? if the tyres were no wearing on the edges before the drop then dropping it doesn't effect the alignment/tracking

basically it up to you mate im just giving the facts and why most people don't have it done, in most cases its not new wheels and tyresgetting fitted so (if you were having tyre wear problems before )then you would need the tracking done

Mine's dropped more and barely rubs on 18's, so you should be fine, but that install seems a bit pricy. Alignment is necessary but headlight adjustment is so simple, the price they will charge you is stupid. You can do it yourself if you're saavy enough to get into the headlight (like 3 bolts). Good luck, sadly, in the end it's sometimes easiest just to pay...
