So last saturday I started my car and I couldn't shift all the sudden, posted previously about this, but after further research I have checked the master and slave cylinder and neither of them are leaking so I took it to an audi specialist and they said they could tell that the pressure plate had broken finger(s).

Is this normal or does it seem like a correct assumption? I'd just like other opinions before I start the arduous task of dropping the tranny.
