brake pad wires?

brake pad wires?
well, today... i was changing my rear front brakes and notice that the brake pads have some sort of sensor or wire going into the pad...the problem is the pads i got from auto zone doesnt have any wire or etc coming out of it....can i just use the pads i got or do i have to go to audi and buy the one with wires? THANKS

You can use the pads. The wires make a connection when your pads are worn and set off a warning light on the dash telling you it is time for pads.
Other than that feature not working the pads will be fine.
BTW, not sure what your "rear front brakes" are.

if you dont connect the wire you will get a warning light, so you need to splice them together. here this write up explains it all.
