Default Brake light mod question

Hey~ I did the Brake light mod a couple nights ago and I just noticed that when I hit my brakes the fog switch on the dash lights up. when I let off the brake it goes off again. Anyone else have this happen? or is this something weird since I upgraded from 98.5-99.5+ tails. No real issue with this just thought it was weird

Thanks

were your tails wired for the other rear fog light already? mine is a 2001 and that port isnt wired or I would have had this done a while ago...

Thats normal...if you turn your rear fog lights on, your brake lights will come on as well.

I purchased the tails off a 2k and the bulb holder in the tails was wired for the dual fog lights. my 98.5 had a lead going up to the fog light but was missing the back piece that completes the circuit. All I did was grind out the top hole on he passenger side housing, get some splicing connectors - they clamp onto a wire and allow you to plug in a wire to make a T - On the passenger side I put one on #2 wire and one on the #5 wire and connected them. that was all that was needed, didn't have to do the drivers side. best of all NO SOLDERING

i second that.
but if you do turn on your rear fog lights with that button, yes the fogs and brake lights will light up, you will also blow a fuse, the "rear light" fuse. if your in an automatic car and blow this fuse then you wont be able to get out of park.

the amber light on the fog light push button gets its power from the rear fog lights when their on. the amber light dosnt switch on or off becuase the fog lightbutton is in or out. hopefully that makes some sence.

i also only spliced into one tail light. and the circuit board isnt that easy to solder onto. that diy write up should be changed realy becuase 1. you cant solder onto the board becuase the solder wont stick, 2. too much heat on that board will fry it and 3. you shouldnt be pressng the rearfog light button becuase you'll start blowing fuses.

does this mean you can't turn on your fog lights, or that you can only turn on the fronts?(but not the rear, since they are already hardwired to be on)
