brake dust!

RE: brake dust!
this post is pretty old but I was wondering if anybody has found out why they have more dust at the rear wheels.
I have asked my dealer and they said that this is not right but couldn't figure it out either.
I still have more dust on the rears than fronts....
Looks like most B6'ers have more at the rear too.
Does anybody know how I can tell if the pads or the rotors are ok without taking the wheel out. Is there an indicator....
B6 A4 with sport package
Thanks

RE: brake dust!
I was so fed up with brake dust that I just spent like 95 bucks on a set of PBR metalmaster front pads... and yeah, i still have a lot of dust, they were supposed to be "dustless"! the bastards lied to me...

RE: brake dust!
yea...wieird...i get way more brake dust on my rears vs front. i gotta 2003 b6 also with the sports package, i doubt that makes a difference. but yea, have been cleaning my wheels every other 3rd day or so. rarely clean my fronts.

RE: brake dust!
" more brake dust on rears = parking brake on while driving. "
I will have to disagree because when the car is in nuetral I don't feel any resistance at all. Looks like people who have more dust at the rears are all B6 owners
Makes you wonder.... Maybe as somebody else stated before the rears might be different material. I don't know...
