From what I've come to understand recently, on 00+ VW/Audi motors you can use a 50/50 DV or a BOV. Because the 00+ have an air pressure sensor after the DV/BOV. The ECU still has to adapt, but it's not nearly as bad as running a BOV on a pre 00.
In my opinion, the only good BOV on an Audiis one with a duck call or a built motor.

So its only at idle that it its taking note? If thats the case you just block off the joint and use a regular BOV since at idle there should be nothing going through anyways becuase there is not enough pressure to open the DV valve. That doesnt make sence to me.

However, there is enough vacuum to open the valve.

hmmm....yeah, sounding like a honda doesn't really appeal to me....anyone got a better reason than that?
I don't get it. why wouldn't you want to sneak up on people and then beat the bag out of them?? with your DV blowing off into the air you're just saying "look at me!!! I've got mods under my hood!!!" sounds like these people watch to much "fast and the furious". why why why do you want your engine to make MORE noise! this is a high end car! the point is, its quietly agressive and fast. if you want a rice rocket save yourself $15,000 and buy a civic!

I have a GFB Hybred D-BOV. Strightup if you are venting ANYthing out your engine will run rich end of story. Even at 10% blowoff at high revs i still throw codes indacating that there is a lack of fuel, not to mention i can see it running rich by monitoring the blocks in VAGCOM. the bottom line it is bad for your engine, save yourself the money and get a nice DV. I personaly have found the sound of a K04 spooling up much more pleasing then the pshhhhh sound anyway, after awhile it just sounds like a tractor trailers air breaks.
