Well, I was out to lunch with some buddies from work, two of them are pretty big (the car was riding very low!). On the way back, I go over a speed bump (slowly) and the passenger front side (im guessing by the tires, behind them, somewhat under the door) hits the top of the speed bump. I think to myself "****!!!" then park. It seems like nothing happened but I need to know if there is anything in that area I should be worried about. Thanks.

 

i bet u just scratch the bottoms of the bumper but i doubt u messed anything up man

 

I have done that before... this was more like a THUNK that could be felt throughout the car.

i think ur fine. That is right where ur jack lifting points are so it should be pretty strong.

 

Thats nothing, my buddy ramp his A6 and cracked the oil pan, this thing was airborne.

Everytime i go over speed bumps i get paranoied. If i go to fast i will bottom out. I have to like come to a complete stop before the speed bump and ease my way over it. Im glad i don't live up north because my car would be messed up because the roads suck so bad. Especially PA

 

Ahaha dont worry man, I do that pretty much everyday, I cant go over speedbumps but it happens all the time on random stuff. The only time I worry is when i bottom out on the highway.

 

You also have the holy grail of skid plates...

 

lol this is true, but speedbumps make contact just behind the rear wheels which is right about under the drivers legs. Its usually the trans stabilizer bar that hits first and my plate doesnt go back that far. On the highway it is my plate that scrapes
