Hey guys, I've put some money aside to buy an exhaust but I can decide between the Borla Cat Back or the Remus Axle Back for my 02 3.0. Remus gaurantees about a 5% increase in hp from theirs, but im not sure about the Borla. The other fact is price, the Borla exhaust lists for 650, the Remus for about 450 but after shopping around I found the Remus for only 325. So I'm thinkin I could use the extra money to get a chip a short throw shifter. Let me know what you guys think.

 

I say go with the Borla IMO .

Yeah well Borlas are also very reliable exhaust thats why they usually jack up the price. The reason you haven't recieved your yet is most likely because it is on backorder or they are very busy in the warehouse and are waiting for another shipment. Depeding on the type of car it takes a different amount of time for ones that are in demand and others it takes longer. Hope helped.

 

i waould say the cat-back (not nececarilly borla) just any cat back is better than a axle back.

 

Where did you find remus that cheap?

Remus is the nicest sounding exhaust I've ever heard... Ever. 5% gains is prolly about right... thats like 7.5hp on a stock 1.8T. Remus doesnt make much power though... and yeah, turbo back would be nicer, its stupid that remus did the axle back. I'd go remus for sound... borla for performance. Both exhausts are good though... remus will still make good power, and borla will still sound good... so I guess I'm not helping you choose, unless you can decide what is more important, sound or power. I'd take either, personally.

A remus exhaust on a VR6 sounds like a porsche... I dunno what they can do with a 4 cyl, but I have faith! I'd go remus over borla hands down, if it was full catback... seeing as how its not... I'd be torn. I'd prolly still go remus over borla, and just buy a downpipe from some other company.

And where did you find remus for 325???
