Default Boost Measurement

Guys I want to measure my boost because I have a feeling that its not quite right. I don't have a boost gauge and I actually don't want to buy one yet. I have vag-com though. Is there any way I can measure it with it or something else with out having to buy the boost gauge?

Boost is in the VAG-COM. I forget which number it is, but it's there in a few locations.

Is it real-time reading or it just logs it?

I thought boost logging was only available for drive by cable cars.

I know for sure my car is not a drive by wire because it is an early 99. I checked with vag-com for a while today in the Measuring Blocks but I can't find a boost reading. Maybe I'll just buy a cheap gauge at pepboys or something and install it just to check it and remove it.

Now the other question is how hard/easy is it to install a generic boost gauge?

I read it but it doesnt really explain how to install it. Do I connect it to the line that runs from the intake manifold?

Boost is normally logged with block 115. VAG doesn't have a fast sampling rate,
so it might miss a very quick spike. But for logging purposes it does the job.

Installing a boost gauge is simple as hell... My sedan...
