boost leaks galore
So I have been having a lot of problems with my car ever since I got it chipped and I couldnt seem to find the problem. Well I finally got my hands on a tool to pressurize my intake and found leaks in about 4 places. A few different lines off of the intake were split and there were some other things. My question is does this normally happen and has anyone else had this problem???Thanks

RE: boost leaks galore
I think that is what i have. i just dont have the time to check for leaks. Do you have a boost gauge? Whats ur boost? I have an APR chip and I spike all over the place. From 11-15. Thats bad.
What did u use to check if you have leaks?

RE: boost leaks galore
ya pretty common..I just found two old braided vaclines that I replaced with thick rubber ones... and Ive already replaced 4 ..more keep showing up ..lol
also dont know if you have had to replace any "in line check valves" but they will cause boost leakage as well ... they are half black and half grey located all over the engine I think 4 or 5 to be exact
btw thanks for the help on the light on my boost guage Scotts custom..turned out it was a red light but I want to get a pure white bulb just havnt found one yet
Vac line testing DIY is on AW and AZ ..maybe on here too if you search..
couple different methods..one you shove a tennis ball in your TIP and hook it up to a air compressor .. then listen for leaks .. hopefully not too many :-)
