Boost gauge placement

Boost gauge placement
I've been looking at boost gauges for my 2000 1.8t, and i was really looking forward to a vent mount, but then i had a eureka moment. Has anyone here done, or heard of a boost gauge being mounted in the cup holder? I was thinking that it would be cool if i fitted a boost gauge to the pop out cup holder by the stock deck. this would allow me to keep the stock looks, and when i am driving i can just pop the cup holder open and the gauge pops up. if i were to do this, i would need a boost gauge that is pretty thin, which is what i would need help with finding. Anybody have any opinions on feasability and reccomended gauges?

RE: Boost gauge placement
I was afraid that i might have to go with a digital one... i like the look of the mechanical ones, but i can learn to live with a digital one. I did some measurements and the diameter of the hole is 2 5/8" and the maximum gauge thickness i have to work with is about 5/8". I'm gonna email some companies about the thickness of their gauges. Will update.
