Boost gauge failure or am i chipped? *Update*
First of all yes ive used the search and i havent found what im looking for.
Specs on the car: 01 A4 1.8T 5spd Quattro (stock, well supposed to be)
Ok heres the deal. I bought this audi about 4 months ago and i love it so far, it has the sport package and drives very well. I bought a boost gauge and installed it on the vaccum hose on the top of the intake manifold the closest side to the rad (basically the front)....so the hose thats closest to the grill. Im reading 14 hg vac at idle and about 17psi in 1st and in 2nd-3rd- and 4th i hit 20 psi...
Gauge failure?
Leak?
didnt install it on the correct hose?
chipped?
Ps. My check engine like came on a couple minutes after i took the car for a spin when i installed the gauge..
Thanks for the help
Michael

RE: Boost gauge failure or am i chipped?
You gauge should not be CONNECTED TO front line by grill. It will read 10-14 for vac pressure
It has to be connect to closest one by windshield. Will read 19-21 for vac pressure

no it should read the same in either spot, i hooked mine up in both spots testing it out and it worked in the front just fine
