THE BOLT SAGA

RE: THE BOLT SAGA
Welp, I haven't been able to get it out yet, but I also haven't really tried very hard. Thursdays are my no-school days, so wednesday afternoon and thursday I will be finishing up this battle.
Keep in mind that my case is one of the most extreme I've ever heard of. Most people can just use PB Blaster and a BFH, or failing that, a torch and an air hammer.
My bolt is evil in an altogether unique meaning of the word. I think it was wrought in Satan's own forge.

You're guess would be correct!
I had to drill one side out... it was insane. The other side was a 2 person job, but managed with no drill. I had a johnson bar on the bolt, with a piece of pipe about 3 feet long on the johnson bar. I had my dad torquing the hell out of the bolt, while I hammered the bajesus out of the other side. Eventually, it started to give.
The other side needed drilling though -- I couldnt get enough torque to the bolt to do anything (more akward position).

hehe dats a Bitch... whn I get stuck with problems like that
I ask myself why I choose this trade
But the Red wrench will fix it hahaha
there is a couple of ways you can tackle that ...
Heat up the Knockle (If you not going to use the Uppers )
then let it cool down, this will help keep some of its strength
then grind a Bolt down into a tap and weld it onto the broken
side make sure itss realy stronge no pigon **** welding
then reheat and hope it comes lose
Depends how strong your weld is

Another thing you can do since it out the car
is to try drill a hole that is smaller then the bolt that
will fit an Extractor tool for a Stud or dowel pin
and it should be able to catch the Bolt and Come out
with it attached ????

RE: THE BOLT SAGA
Man, I had horrible visons of doing mine. My right side pinch bolt came right out. I used a jack while it was all still together, just changed heights little by little until I was able to tap it right out. I had to put it back because I didn't have the damn tool for getting the lower rear control arm off (I'm doing everything, uppers, lowers and tie rods. I'm only going to do this once!). Haven't tried the left yet, I hope it's just as forgiving. I probably jinxed myself now, and the right one that had no problems out or back in will go all to crap now.
I think the key is using a jack to lift it. If you watch the area, you can almost see when everything lines up. Use a drift and it should tap right out. If it doesn't, raise or lower it a bit at a time and try tapping it out again. I **** you not, once I got it all lined up right I was able to pull it out by hand once I got it started.
