We steam clean audi engines all the time, but there is a couple of points you want to stay away from.
First don't spray any of the engine decals or emmisions stickers cause they will come clean off and they are expensive to replace.
Second are to avoid is the ignition coils, they coils are bad enough on thier own and adding moisture to them will make them corrode and fall apart.
Lastly don't spray near the pollen filter box cause you'll get water into the vehicle's interior.

Simple green, very careful use of a pressure washer (as noted in above post), citrus gunk on some spots, and Maguirs (sp?) trim detailer, which is like a spray tire wet that doesn't get all greasy and streaky. Really good stuff.

It's actually been daily driven since I got the Stage III+ put in. It's too fun of a car to not drive now. It won't go out when there is snow/salt on the roads, but since at least March of this year, it's been out every day that hasn't had snow. It's easy to keep clean if I just remember to wash the bay and undercarriage whenever I wash the car itself. Letting it get gunked up by blowing off doing that is when there is work involved.
