can you get them at autozone? trying to show some support... I tried to buy that G12 online yesterday and they wanted $15 to ship two bottles. I went to VW and got a gallon for $20... I guess I'll "get in the zone! Autozone!" lol...

 

Yeah thats fine. 6E is ok for stock or if you are chipped making ~15psi. Some k03 chips will produce near 20 psi thoughand thats when you want to be thinking about a cooler plug. I run 7E's right now. 7E's will work with a stock setup, but they wont get hot enough to clean/fully combust all of theair/gas,and will foul pretty quick.

I just installed DENSO IRIDIUMS in my 98' 1.8T and it runs great had to try them out. Switched from ngk platinums, but gapped them at .032 with n75 and giac 1 bar. anyone have comments?

 

Did you read the thread? .028 is the gap you should put them at if youre chipped, .030, or .032 for stock.

 

Guess what I'm doing in the morning. I got it just wandering if you feel the difference with an .004 less gap or is it just rule of thumb? I'm new to this stuff with German cars and turbos, etc. but learning. Thanks for the response.

 

the whole thing with platinum plugs was so auto manufacturers could boast the vehicle can go 100K miles b4 it's first scheduled tune up blah blah. Is there anything wrong with platinum? No; it's fine. A good conductor that reaches self cleaning temps almost immedietely. Copper? Awesome conductor, copper plugs are great, and you need to change them out more frequently. IMO once every 6 months for copper, 1 year for plat. Try for yourself and see what suits you best.

Now what I would like to know is where do iridium plugs fit in?
