#1#2 sounds like the AC only way to find out is when you use it but that wont screw you engine up ( a picture of that part would be nice )?,
the rear break lights flickering could be the break peddle switch ready to fail or it has a bad ground,
ignition lights failing to come on and battery sounding as if it were dead ( which it obviously isn't ) because you got the car started with that battery so im guessing you have a bad ignition switch and a common problem it seems of late,
so all in all a picture of the damaged bolt you took off and the area where it came from is a first request and welcome to AF

you need to replace the break pedal switch you cant just cut it out that's how the break lights work, its a simple job to replace and a few $$ find the switch which is on the upper part near the break peddle and twist then pull out unplug the wire connector and fit the new one in reverse order.
battery issue now and back on topic simply buy a longer ground wire or extension and fit anywhere on the chassis ( that's what I would do ) not a lot of room in that area
edit: excellent pictures of the area and shows how useful it can be in helping out digi camera gets a +10
