When checking my oil the other day I found some light brown (peanut butter-looking) foam on the dipstick just above the oil level. Now I keep smelling a burning oil? smell just when my heater kicks in... but it only lasts a few minutes. BAD? Any ideas.... Thanks all!

Could be, i had a similar problem. Do you drive lots of short distances?

 

Not really... I drive about 20 min.on the HWY to work each way.

 

Well you need to get the car checked out. I wouln't recommend driving it anymore. YOu need to find out if it is condensation or coolant. Are you low on coolant?

blown headgasket at an independant mechanic will run you around 500 bucks.

 

Yeah, now that you mention it the coolant is low!

 

stop driving the car, get it towed. A hydrolocked engine will cost more than a headgasket.

 

definitely. Tow that and get it looked at. Sounds like the headgasket indeed.
