BAD GAS MILEAGE
I have a 2000 a4 2.8 quatro automatic with 83k miles.
I usually do either 91 or 93 at exxon or whatever good gas station is there..
I do 95% city driving. NYC.
its all stop and go traffic. Its mostly around 30mph city driving with stop signs and red lights at every block lol..
Add to that I also have a Lead foot and love to accelerate .
I have been getting around 200 miles on my last fillup.
what can i do about this.
new o2 senson? KN air filter?
my tires pressure is around 31 or so..
thanks

RE: BAD GAS MILEAGE
Dunno, my driving is mainly highway... and USUALLY im babying my car... although once a day I usually end up winding it out... I get about 500 km out of a tank, and I'm in a 1.8T 5 spd. 500 km is around 310 miles... and I'm a 4 cyl, highway driving, 5 spd... you're 200 seems possible for a lead footed city driver, in an automatic v6.
But yeah, the things you said can help with mileage... throw a bottle of fuel SYSTEM cleaner (not injector cleaner, but SYSTEM cleaner) in your gas tank -- Pour in the whole bottle when your tank is nearly empty.. at like 1/8th of a tank (it'll tell you do add to a full tank)... other than that, plugs and wires can help, if yours are original they'd be worth changing.
