Flooring it all the way gets it up to about 5.5 - 6 on the tachometer, the redline is 6.5. Is flooring it often bad for the engine or anything? It's pretty used if that makes a difference, about 250,000 miles on it, its a 2003 A4 Cabriolet.

 

Some "spirited" driving occasionally is actually good for the engine, as long as your maintenance is up to date.

Redlining it from every stop light, not so much.
