Does anyone know how to remove the back of the drivers seat and replace the broken clips so that it will stay?

 

when i first got my car, the back of the driver's seat used to fall off and then one day i got pissed and slammed it in there and it has stayed ever since. If the clips are broken that means the bottom should be falling out so you should just be able to pull down on it and it will come off. I think the clips are glued on so i'm not sure if you can buy clips and re-glue them.

 

i dunno but im about to take a machette to my drivers seat to find out whatever is sliding around inside on truns. something shifts inside the seat everytime i take a turn and i can feel it in my back. i hate it. i know this has happend to others as well, not sure what they did about it.

 

So just pull down huh... sounds complicated, I think I'll take it to the dealer.

Oh, and my seat shifts around too inside and makes funky noises. Once it's irritated me enough I'll look into that too.

 

Well I tried pulling down but it wouldn't come off. Your right the bottom of the back of the seat is popped out. I guess there's some kind of clip at the top also. Anyone know how to get it off, 2002 A4.

 

maybe the previous owner broke it or something but i'm pretty sure the top of that piece is just a tab that slides up into the seat and the clips in the bottom secure it.

mine popped out again, the top is def a tab that slides up in the seat. I'm not sure why the bottom clips won't hold, they seem like they are in good shape? Oh well, after being on this site a couple of weeks I should be happy that's all I have to complain about.
