Default B7 Differential and Manual Transmission Fluid

Dealership says Quattro/Diff fluid and transmission fluid are lifetime but that sounds like crap to me since they consider the Tiptronic fluid lifetime as well when it's rated by ZF for 60k miles.

Has anyone changed their diff or trans fluid yet and what did they use?

well most of us who have changed out tranny fluids either have b5 or b6. we usually use redline or mobil 75w90 or something similar. as for b7, not 100% it's the same but pretty similar i would think. and change it about evry 55k miles or so to be on the safe side. only problem is u need a vagcom to do it

Wait, you need Vagcom to change trans and diff fluid?

Vagcom helps. As there is no dipstick, you fill the transmission until it drips out the fill hole. Toget the correct level, the transmission fluid is supposed to be slightly warm (47 degrees C if it remember correctly). That is where the vagcom comes in as you can monitor the temp of the fluid.

In reality, you are probably OK starting with a cold car and driving it around the block once. that should bring you close to the right temperature. The car has to be on Jackstands and be perfectly level.

I use OEM fluid for the tranny and Mobil 1 75/90 for all the differentials.

I think I'm just gonna bring it La Jolla Autotech when I hit 50k miles.

I think I got off topic. You have a manual transmission. A vagcom is not needed, just drain and fill.
